Playing with Pebeo paints and Skipper

This is Skipper's new best place to sleep. She is doing well but has been sick a few times recently so we are keeping a close eye on her.

Below are two of the ceramic coasters that I made this week. Had lots of fun playing with my Pebeo fantasy paints. On these two I used both the moon and prisme paints and I just love the textures they produce. Have a great weekend.

Monkey Madness!

Time for another new release from Beccy Muir and this time it's a super fun set of digital stamps and sentiments. The new set is called 'Monkey Madness'. You can find the set in Beccy's shop and more inspiration on Beccy's blog. Very exciting things happening over at Beccy's Place so do check it out.

Really adored working with these images and can see myself using them for lots of different occasions.
A lot of work went into making the fist card as all the backgrounds are handmade. The blue was done with Brusho and then over printed. The next layer was done by stamping the fancy image and then stencilling over it with the flower image. Piece of paper was coloured with Glimmer mist and the leafy branches were die cut. The sentiment is from the 'Monkey Madness' set. The main image was printed and then coloured with alcohol markers and some pencil on top.

The second card was made by printing the image and sentiment and colouring it with pencils and then stamping the leaves over the edges and colouring them with Pitt pens. Layered onto patter cards and then button added.

Hope you will take a look at Beccy's Place blog .

Playing with Pebeo fantasy paints

First two projects using my new set of Pebeo Fantasy paints. Hubby does not like the colours but I like the effect of the paints.

Update on Skipper
She got a clean bill of health on Friday, all her blood tests were fine!!!
She is loving being outside whenever she wants.

Have a great day.

65th Wedding Anniversary card

Was asked to make an anniversary card for a friend. Really pleased with how it turned out. The base card was cut with a Tattered lace die and so were the layers and numbers. The image is a Penny Black one and coloured with pencils.

Skipper is doing really well.

Would like to enter this card in the
Penny Black and More Challenge: Anything goes with a stamp.

Have a great day.

Mermaid set

Hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine today. It's time for another release from Beccy Muir called 'Mermaid set'.
You can find the set on sale at Beccy's shop and inspiration on Beccy's Blog.

I created the card above with the image and sentiment from the Mermaid set.  Firstly I printed the image and sentiment onto white card and set it aside to dry. The image was coloured with pencils and some glitter added to the hair and tail. The back ground was made using glimmer paint onto white card. Used a free stamp which came with a magazine to add the detail at the top of the background. The sentiment was cut out with a die and tinted with panpastels. The twigs were cut using a die and coloured with panpastels.

Thanks for looking.

Sewing project

(updated photo with the top-stitching, much better)

Finally got around to making my own microwave bowl potholder. Saw this tutorial on Syzygy of Me blog a few weeks ago and knew I had to try it. Bought my 100% cotton batting from Amazon as it was not easy to find.

Update on Skipper
She is doing really well and want's so desperately to go out again but until she has her boosters and flea shot she is grounded. After the 12th August she can go out as much as she likes.
Thank you for all the kind words and thoughts for her.

God Bless.

Easel card and Skipper

Hope you are having a wonderful day. Sharing this card I made for a friend's birthday. The image is from the 'Cool Chicks Set' digital image set. The image and sentiment were printed onto white card and the image coloured with pencils. A black marker was used to add the dots and the stitched lines. Used a new alphabet die set to cut out the name. Hope  he will like it.

Also Skipper is doing really well. The feeding tube site is almost completely healed so as a treat I let her out to play. She had a sniff at all the plants in the garden and then went along the field to one of our neighbours bridge. She is eating but still not as much as she should but we will get there.

Can't thank you enough for the kind words and prayers for my beautiful girl.

Light in the Darkness release

Thank you again for the lovely wishes for Skipper. She is doing better.

Time for another release by Beccy Muir and this time it's a wonderful set of lamps and sentiments called 'Light in the Darkness' and there is a paper set to complement it. As always the set contains both the black and white images and coloured. You can find more inspiration on Beccy's blog and the set in her SHOP.

My creations, using two of the images and sentiments, are a card and a fridge magnet. The card was made by printing out three of the papers from the digital paper set 'Light in the Darkness' and the images from the image set.

The images were coloured using pencils and odourless spirit. Once coloured they were cut out and the image for the card was attached to the card. The fridge magnet was done by adding some pieces of magnetic sheet to the back of the coloured image and sealed with gloss medium.

Hope you enjoyed looking at my projects.
Have a great weekend.

New project and update

Hello and hope you are having a great week. Wanted to share this project that was made for a friend. Lost of different techniques were used in this creation. I love the background which was created with Glimmer mists.

Update on Skipper

I can't express how grateful I am for the well wishes for Skipper. Really happy to say she is on the mend. She is eating better (not as much as she should) and the feeding tube site is healing nicely. The dreaded cone maybe gone in a day or so. They believe all the changes they were seeing in her live and pancreas maybe due to the blockage of the hair ball so nothing very serious have showed up. We are really happy that she is improving.
Soon the furry created will be under attack again!

Thank you and God Bless.

News about Skipper

Hello everyone, wanted to update you on Skipper. Thank you for all the wonderful comments and emails, we really appreciate it.

What a week, Skipper came home on Monday evening and we were at the emergency vet at midnight and the hospital (QVSH in Cambridge) the next day. We were having to feed her via her tube as she was not eating but I am happy to say she has started to eat today. We had to go back to the hospital today as her feeding tube was becoming infected (red patch on her tummy). We decided it would be best to remove it. Her surgical wound has healed well and we are hoping the little hole where the feeding tube was will heal in a couple of days.

She is much brighter today and we think that the worst might be over. She has a slight case of pancreatitis and possibly too much copper in her liver but they are both treatable by diet. She almost died from a very large hairball in her stomach which is very scary. We are grateful for the happy accidents which led to them finding the hairball while inserting the feeding tube.
In the photo above we had just got back from the hospital and she was still recovering from the sedation. :)

Thank God for happy accidents and for healing prayers and thoughts.

Thank you from Skipper.

Skipper is home!

Thank you so much for the kind comments and emails about Skipper. She is finally home and doing well. She is eating on her own and using her litter try again. She has a feeding tube in and her stitches which should come out next week.
Can't tell you how relived and happy we are to have her home. The preliminary results have come back negative for lymphoma, which is fantastic news. They think she got really ill due to a very large and hard hairball lodged in her stomach which they removed last Wednesday. She looks so funny with so many shaved patched, even one on her tail! :)

This is a bag I sewed and decorated for the vet student who was looking after Skipper. She took such good care of Skipper and I wanted her to remember one of her first patients.

Have a wonderful day.

Tippy Release

Time for a new release by Beccy Muir and it's this adorable little mouse. The set is called Tippy and is available in Beccy's Store. There is also a matching set of papers to purchase.
Don't forget each month there is a challenge and a free image for you to use if you like.
My two cards were made by printed the images and sentiments from the computer and coloured in with pencils. The scrapbook page was made by printing to 12 x 12 inch sheets of paper. It worked perfectly with the photo of Skipper and her furry friend. :)

Skipper update: She is recovering well at the hospital and we are hoping she will be home on Monday. Still no results of the biopsies but she is eating on her own.
Thank you again for the kind thoughts and comments.
Have a wonderful weekend.
